Derek Gores is a collage artist whose creates his portraits by using recycled magazine articles, labels, and digital materials. His artwork is shown and displayed in galleries such as the ones found in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Sydney, Cologne, Miami, and Santa Fe. His design clients also include Dwell Magazine, Lincoln Motor Co., ESPN, Lenny Kravitz, Lucasfilm, Kings of Leon, U2, Adidas, Madonna, Harley Davidson, Standard Collective, the National Football League, etc. He's graduated from The Rhode Island School of Design and now lives in Melbourne, Florida and was named one of the 40 important artists of the New Contemporary Movement.
This collage I have made was inspired by Derrek Gores' work. Obviously it doesn't completely represent his art because his work must have taken him days upon weeks to complete, which is why it isn't an exact "replica" of something Gores would make, it was just "inspired" by his genius.
