Frida Kahlo is a mexican-born painter who is well-known for the work of her self portraits. Even though she was born July 6, 1907, she gave her birthdate as July 7. 1910. She did this because she wanted her birthdate to be the same year as the Mexican Revolution, as if her life started with the birth of modern Mexico. Frida's work is sometimes considered "surrealist" and even folk art. She had life-long health problems due to an accident that occurred when she was a teenager and these health problems kept her isolated from the world, which inspired the rest of her artwork. Frida had once stated, "I paint myself because I am so often alone and because I am the subject I know best. I was born a painter."

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower ~ 7/23/13
So this is my remade movie poster for the movie "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" or "The Perks". The girl is Emma Watson (who played the character Sam) and the boy is Logan Lerman (who payed the character Charlie) and the two quotes are both from the movie.

Lonely Hearts Club ~ 7/17/13
Marina and the Diamonds CD Cover: Lonely Hearts Club (including songs The State of Dreaming, Radioactive, Primadonna, Hollywood, Oh No!, Starring Role, Teen Idle, Power& Control, Shampain, and Homewrecker). Obviously fake since most of these songs are included in multiple albums of her own, I had many uses of "candy hearts" and decorations made by Tumblr users and I did try to incorporate some vintage backgrounds and designs just like I believe Marina would have done herself.

Derek Gores ~ 7/15/13
Derek Gores is a collage artist whose creates his portraits by using recycled magazine articles, labels, and digital materials. His artwork is shown and displayed in galleries such as the ones found in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Sydney, Cologne, Miami, and Santa Fe. His design clients also include Dwell Magazine, Lincoln Motor Co., ESPN, Lenny Kravitz, Lucasfilm, Kings of Leon, U2, Adidas, Madonna, Harley Davidson, Standard Collective, the National Football League, etc. He's graduated from The Rhode Island School of Design and now lives in Melbourne, Florida and was named one of the 40 important artists of the New Contemporary Movement.
This collage I have made was inspired by Derrek Gores' work. Obviously it doesn't completely represent his art because his work must have taken him days upon weeks to complete, which is why it isn't an exact "replica" of something Gores would make, it was just "inspired" by his genius.
